Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 was released in 1999 by Chris Sawyer. The game went to #1 in the gaming charts as no other game for the PC was like this. The main objective of Rollercoaster Tycoon is getting people into your amusement park and emptying their pockets as you show them a good time. Park-goers come in with about $70 apiece, and you can set prices for general admission, for each different ride, and concessions like soda pop, hamburgers, park maps, and umbrellas. The rides come in several categories. Simple attractions like Ferris Wheels and Haunted Houses. And the the tracked rides, like log runs, miniature trains, monorails and of course roller coasters, which are custom built to suit your park!
